FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographic Stories
I’m drawn to the beauty and rawness of wildlife, birds and places, but also to the challenges they face. Here I share the stories behind my photographs, what caught my attention, how I felt and what was happening around me. My curiosity sometimes leads me to explore animal behaviour, local history or everyday life, adding to what I experienced and helping me better understand the subjects I photograph.
Emerald Take-Off
A lilac-breasted roller launches from a dry twig in Kruger National Park, revealing its brilliant turquoise and blue wings. A fleeting photographic moment offers a closer look at this colourful African bird, its fascinating hunting behaviour and the importance of protecting the natural environment in which it thrives.
Still Here
A solitary white rhino in the Greater Kruger, its shortened horns a reminder of the threats it faces. Still Here reflects on the fragile future of these magnificent animals, the struggle to protect them and our growing indifference to the natural world.
Last Patrol
A cool, misty morning in Thornybush, an unfamiliar leopard and a chance encounter along a quiet bush track. A moment of extraordinary stillness, made all the more memorable when the animal was never seen in the area again.
