I’m drawn to the beauty and rawness of wildlife, birds and places, but also to the challenges they face. Here I share the stories behind my photographs, what caught my attention, how I felt and what was happening around me. My curiosity sometimes leads me to explore animal behaviour, local history or everyday life, adding to what I experienced and helping me better understand the subjects I photograph.
Kruger Speaks: The Story Behind My Photographs
A chance enquiry about one of my leopard photographs led to a larger contribution to Kruger Speaks, the new book by Helena Kriel and Don Pinnock. I share how the collaboration developed and why this beautifully illustrated account of Kruger National Park is worth reading.
