HAIJAGUSWA ARDHI 🐾

[1 of 3 COLLECTORS IMAGES]

Golden ripples reflect a hippo mother and her calf in an untouched African setting.

Haijaguswa Ardhi means “Untouched Earth” in Swahili.

As the sun slowly sets over the African savanna, a mother hippo and her baby calf lie still in the golden-colored waters of the lake. The calf stays close to its mother, who keeps a watchful eye on her young one and us. The warm last hues of the setting sun are mirrored in the shimmering reflection of the water, casting an otherworldly glow over the scene. The serene atmosphere is only broken by the occasional snort or grunt from the hippos, their contentment palpable in the warm evening air. It's a magical scene that leaves me transfixed, grateful to bear witness to the wonders of the natural world.

As the sun sinks lower on the horizon, the golden hues of the sky intensify, casting a warm glow over everything in its path. The waters of the lake turn a brilliant shade of orange, amplifying the beauty of the hippos as they move gracefully through the water. I can't help but feel small in the face of this stunning display of nature's power. It's moments like these that make me feel alive, that make me grateful to be a part of this beautiful world. It's a moment frozen in time, a snapshot of nature's beauty that always leaves me humbled.
