FINE ART Photographer & Storyteller
Fine art photography and storytelling for distinctive places, meaningful experiences, and subjects with stories worth telling.
I work with distinctive places, meaningful experiences, and story-led projects that need to be communicated with depth and clarity.
Depending on the brief, this may involve original photography, visual curation, or written storytelling. It may also include helping shape how the work is presented across a website and selected materials.
What I Offer
A creative service shaped around photography, storytelling, and the thoughtful expression of what matters. Why this matterS
Many memorable places and meaningful subjects do not lack character. What they often lack is clear expression.
The setting may be special. The experience may already be thoughtful. The significance may already be there.
But online, that can become blurred. The words feel generic. The imagery feels inconsistent. What makes something distinctive becomes harder to recognise.
When that happens, much of its value can be lost.
This work helps bring greater clarity through photography and storytelling that feel thoughtful, coherent, and true to what is really there.
Who THIS WORK IS FOR
Distinctive stays and hospitality
Hotels, game lodges, guest properties, and retreats looking for a more thoughtful and memorable expression of place.
Destinations and special locations
Towns, regions, estates, and places with atmosphere, character, or cultural interest that deserve to be expressed with depth.
Conservation and environmental work
Parks, reserves, conservation projects, and public-interest initiatives needing imagery and storytelling that feel grounded and meaningful.
Story-led commissions
Projects centred on a subject, issue, experience, or initiative that call for careful visual and narrative interpretation.
What I Actually Do
-
I help identify what is most distinctive in a place, experience, subject, or initiative so its story comes through more clearly.
-
Where needed, I create original photographs that reflect atmosphere, detail, setting, and character with clarity and depth.
-
I write or refine website copy and selected supporting text so the story feels clearer, more human, and more coherent.
-
Where helpful, I stay involved to help keep the imagery, story, and how the work is presented consistent over time.
How I Work
Step 1Initial conversation
We begin with a short conversation about your place, your current presence, and where clearer storytelling or imagery may be most useful.
Step 2REVIEW AND PROPOSAL
I review your existing website, imagery, and communication, then provide a proposed direction and a detailed quotation.
Step 3Creation AND refinement
The work is developed carefully and collaboratively, with attention to authenticity, consistency, and practical use.
Step 4Delivery AND supporT
The final work is prepared for use across your platforms, with continued input available where longer-term support is helpful.
WHAT MAKES THIS APPROACH DIFFERENT
This is not a volume content service and it is not a conventional agency model.
The work is personal, observant, and shaped with care. Rather than producing disconnected content, I look at how a place is experienced as a whole and how that experience can be expressed with more depth, consistency, and feeling.
The aim is not simply to show what a place looks like, but to communicate what makes it distinctive and memorable.
Founder-led and personal: You work directly with me throughout the process.
Story-first: The narrative and identity of the place guide the work.
Visually consistent: Images and words are shaped to feel coherent together.
Rooted in place: The character of the location informs the creative direction.
Bespoke in scope: Each project is tailored to the place and what it needs.

WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER
Every place is different, so the work is shaped around what will be most useful. These are three common ways clients choose to work with me.
Each project is scoped individually according to your place, your priorities, and the kind of support that will be most valuable.
-
A focused project for places that need a clearer story, stronger direction, or a more distinctive brand presence.
-
A tailored piece of work combining original photography with written storytelling for website, editorial, or brand use.
-
A longer-term arrangement for places that want continuity across story, imagery, and brand communication over time.
Meet the Founder
I am a South Africa based photographer, writer, and founder-led creative professional with a long-standing interest in place, atmosphere, identity, and visual storytelling.
My work is shaped by close observation and by the belief that distinctive places deserve more thoughtful ways of being seen and understood. Through both photography and narrative, I focus on what gives a place its texture, presence, and emotional character.
This service grew from that same foundation. It is designed for clients who want a more authentic and visually coherent way of expressing what makes their place memorable.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I work with places that have a strong sense of identity and want to express it more clearly. That may include safari lodges, private reserves, small game reserves, conservation areas, boutique hotels, guest houses, retreats, heritage properties, and other distinctive destinations.
-
No. While hospitality and destination led brands are a natural fit, I also work with conservation areas, place based projects, and organisations whose story is rooted in landscape, heritage, wildlife, architecture, or a meaningful sense of place.
-
That is absolutely fine. In some cases, the need is not to start again, but to bring more clarity, cohesion, and distinctiveness to what already exists. I can work with an existing foundation and help strengthen the story, refine the messaging, and identify what may still be missing.
-
Yes. This service is well suited to places that are launching, evolving, rebranding, or trying to become better known. That may involve shaping a stronger core story, creating visual material, refining website messaging, or helping define how the place should present itself from the outset.
-
Both. Some clients may need a focused project, such as photography and story development for a website refresh or launch. Others may benefit more from an ongoing creative partnership that helps the brand evolve over time through fresh imagery, content direction, and story led communication.
-
My work is built around place, atmosphere, and identity rather than generic promotional language. I combine visual sensitivity, storytelling, and brand thinking in a way that is particularly suited to places that want to be understood for what makes them distinctive, not simply advertised in the same way as everyone else.
-
Yes, depending on the nature and location of the project. If your place is a strong fit for this kind of work, travel can form part of the discussion.
