A tumbling aqua wave splits the ocean from shore as a surfer rides the final break.
A surfer catches a breaking wave at the perimeter of a hidden reef area, skirting along its formation to shore. With some twists and turns, he slips over the final shoulder of his wave, ready to swim his board out again.
These guys are reef breakers (that's what I call them). They catch what seem to be innocuous waves that deftly carry them over reef, slipping over precipitous rock and kelp, making any move they make decisive, as to making it or breaking it.
I spotted one chap who quite didn't make it coming out of the white water with his board literally split in half. This shows you the impact if you go a little off course. Anyhow, it is a truly beautiful sport with great people. I love the surf mindset!
