A hint of sunburst light reflects across a surfer heading out in the late afternoon to find their break. With slow, certain strokes in the wishy washy ocean around, he reached his spot, settling back to await the signs of the next swell.
The ocean has its own set of rules; it invites you to try its offerings while also pushing your instincts and senses to new heights thanks to its immersive spaces. For me, this shot tells the story of changes all around oneself in a drifting, never-ending world. Only from this aspect can one perhaps see the context of small shifts around one as one journeys through a sea of change. Perhaps I'm being a bit too philosophical, but I do like having different realities all in one, like with this capture. It makes me ask the question I often think about when viewing life from this point of view: can one truly see everything going on around us as much as we think we do?
