WASILISHA

WASILISHA đź‘Ł

A wild dog submits to his dominant pack as he presses forward to join the feast.

Wasilisha means “submit”.

The crouch was instant. With yelps from the pack all around, the adult pressed down, awaiting the outcome of the interaction as the dominant adults arrived on the scene. He was present and watching earlier at the fringe. He was protecting the pack, his ears and eyes alert as the young ones started to devour their catch. A few moments later, he turned to join, and in signaling his intent, a breakaway group of dominant adults approached him. His act served to remind everyone of their status in the pack and ensure that the lines of authority were followed - even when one of them was looking to join in on the feast.

RAW AFRICA COLLECTION

Welcome to Africa - the wise, the restless, the life giving.

This soulful land of dreamers gives rise to the underbelly of a beautiful gentle beat that is only heard by those who listen for it. This photographic journey explores, profiles and captures what I hope is the heart and soul of Africa's true wilderness kingdom. From its deep bush to its dry savannah and desert, Africa remains a place where life is represented by timeless vistas that are distilled into moments to treasure.
